As the weather is FINALLY getting better, even beautiful, its time for us all to spend more time outside. Thankfully there are some sweet exhibitions promoting local art and the lovely outdoors!
Moreland City Council is holding a public art show, MoreArt 2012, which runs along the Upfield bike path which runs parallel to the train tracks. There are installations from RMIT students but there’s also some great work showcasing from others on Sydney Road, Coburg Mall, and Brunswick Town Hall.
I ventured down the bike path myself on one of the cloudless days and felt as if on a scavenger hunt. The walk itself shows you a very industrial side of Melbourne that I had never seen, but interlaced with the rail and old warehouses you stumble upon these interesting and thought provoking installations; like finding hidden treasure! I only wish I had my bike and someone to tag along!
Also, there are some walking tours being help which will show you around and ensure you don’t miss a thing. Check out The Squeaky Wheel and Art Aficionado for more info!
