6 Spots for Creative Christmas Shopping

Once again Christmas has snuck up on us. Thankfully there are some people who have planned ahead and organised markets and sales and stuff. Here are just a few goodies to get you going.

Remember to always support local makers and businesses!

Rose St Market

Saturday & Sunday 11 - 5 / 60 Rose St, Fitzroy

This classic beauty kicks it all year round. Clothes, knick knacks, artwork plus coffee and food! Yes! The best way to spend those sunny weekends.

Perimeter Books

Wednesday & Thursday 12 - 6, Friday 12 - 5, Saturday 10 - 5 / 748 High St, Thornbury

This place has a soft spot in our hearts. It's so pretty and calm and nice looking and I wish I could live here and use vintage design books as a pillow.

But in case you can't make it into the tranquil zone of creativity, they have an online shop.

Designer Christmas Market @ No Vacancy Gallery

15 - 19 December (hours vary) / 34-40 Jane Bell Lane, CBD

No Vacancy Gallery brings together fashion, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and tons more. Help support Australian arts and do your Xmas shopping with these legends.

Bend and Snap Market @ 1000Pound Bend

Sunday 11 December 11 - 4 / 361 Little Lonsdale, CBD

5 years running, the folks behind Bend & Snap have sourced some seriously talented makers and this year is no different. From the strictly classic to the beautifully weird, you can find something for everyone.

Maker's Market @ the Abbotsford Convent

Every 3rd Sunday 10 - 4 / Rosina Auditorium, 1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford

Set in the idyllic Abbotsford Convent, this is another premium weekend spot. Every month, local crafty-folk sell their goods for you to buy up and gift to others. Or keep for yourself. Whatever you want! Get down and get some cupcakes too.

Good luck with the shopping!
