WHO: Alexandra Lederman curator of People Can Change exhibition

Melbourne-based artist Alexandra Lederman (Alex) works from BlackLake Studios in Collingwood. After attending an exhibition of Myuran Sukamaran’s paintings, last September in Melbourne, Alex began closely following the incredible artistic talent of Myuran from inside Kerobokan Prison. Alex was inspired by Myuran’s art therapy sessions which he held to educate and inspire his fellow inmates, providing them with an escape from the criminality inside the jail. After the tragic events that were to follow for Myuran and Andrew, Alex knew that she wanted to spread awareness about the effects of drug and alcohol addiction, and more importantly, the ways that people can change and the affects of art as therapy.
