My Life My Family My Home - Refugee Week

Melbourne Arts Club's very own founder J Forsyth has spent the last few months working at the Western English Language School as part of Creative Victoria's Artists In Schools program. Many of the kids there are refugees, and have spent time learning about photography and how to capture images of their lives as a way of expressing themselves in their new country.

The program was a huge success, the kids took a heap of terrific and insightful photos, and the resulting exhibition 'My Life My Family My Home' was held at the Atrium at Fed Square over the last week. While your chance to catch the show in the flesh has passed, we thought given it's Refugee Week that it might be nice to share some of photos the classes took on the Melbourne Arts Club website.

We also thought it might be timely to give a shout out to the terrific work the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre does, as they've just had an annual fundraiser and you can still donate to help them continue their fantastic efforts by clicking here.
