THE ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS RUNWAY SHOW
4 Australian designers, 60 models, hundreds of makeup artists and stylists, hypnotic music, scorching Melbourne heat and the most beautiful section of the Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens came together to create a 40 minute runway show for 1400 fashion obsessed Melbournians.
Akira Isogawa, Auerlio Costarella, Collette Dinnigan and Martin Grant sent their ethereal outfits weaving up and down Gulifoyles Volcano in aid and support of the garden’s water conservation project that will see the garden become complete draught resistant and sustainable in the next couple of years.
Turning the garden’s into runway was a first for the city and first for many of us in the audience. The show was captivating, inspiring, beautiful and nothing like any other runway show I had seen in Melbourne.
