ArtPlay: Touch and Go. Touch and Go runs from Wednesday 1 June until Saturday 4 June, with two sessions each day. Tickets are $25 per child and adult pair and $10 per extra adult. Bookings are essential. [CBD]

Bundoora Homestead: Under Construction. Contemporary artists have been actively constructing new sculptural and installation work within the galleries since 6 April. Come and check out how the works have progressed before the exhibition closes on 12 June. The artists are Alicia Bryson-Haynes, Lizzy Sampson, Dominic Kavanagh, Louise Paramor, Steaphan Paton and Claire McArdle. [Bundoora]

The Dax Centre: A Mind Beginning to Know Itself. Featuring works from the Cunningham Dax Collection, A Mind Beginning to Know Itself explores past and present interpretations and expressions of Depression. Open until June 24. [Melbourne Uni]

Gallerysmith: City Ghosts by Ian Friend. The exhibition runs from May 25 until July 9. [North Melbourne]

Gallery Funaki: presents Pareidolia, an exhibition of wearable art by Kiko Gianocca. Pareidolia refers to the human trait of perceiving in an object or sound a pattern or meaning that doesn’t actually exist. May 31 - June 25. [CBD]

Flinders Lane Gallery: Exploration. Exploration is FLG's yearly exhibition of emerging artists to watch out for. The exhibition runs from May 31 - June 18. [CBD]

Craft: Hero Worship. Contemporary artists explore the stories of unsung yet influential heroes. Artists include Sun-Woong Bang, Janet Beckhouse, Jenny Crompton, Deanne Gilson, Annie Gobel, Kate Just, Jasmine Targett and Lisa Waup. May 20 - July 23. [CBD].


Thursday 2 June 

Photobook Melbourne: Borderlines. An exhibition of Polish photographer Magdalena Wywrot. 6 - 8pm. [Southbank]

Monsalvat: The Nillumbik Prize, which is a vibrant celebration of contemporary works of excellence by artists with a Nillumbik connection. 6.30 onwards. [Eltham]

Brightspace: The artist of Vale Street Studios present an exhibition of selected works from all 21 artists who work in The Vale Street Studios. Opening drinks tonight from 6-8pm. [St Kilda]

Tinning Street Presents: Deliria by Naomi Nicholls and Linda Loh. Bright colours, abstraction and paint like forms exploding out of the frame and onto the gallery walls. Opening tonight from 6-9pm. [Brunswick]

Friday 3 June 

Outre Gallery: Loretta Lizzio - 'Dearly Beloved'. Using obsessive line work, oils, pencil and pen, Lizzio channels the uninhabited wilderness in her works. Animals, from the mildest to the barbaric are the vessel Loretta uses to burrow into and reveal her own deeply layered self. Running from 3 - 19 June [CBD]

A Gallery in Preston: The medium is the message. A group show featuring work from over 15 artists, including Melbourne Arts Clubs own Lauren Guymer. Opening from 6pm-10pm. [Preston]

KINGS Artist Run Initiative: Opening drinks for KINGS June exhibitions. Heidi Holmes, Room/Body (Jessie Burrows, Aaron Hoffman, Tara O’Conal) and Lei Lei Kung. 6pm-8pm. [CBD]

Backwoods Gallery: Opening night for HIC SVNT DRACONES, a solo exhibition by Belgium artist Roa. Friday 3 June, 6pm - 10pm. Exhibition continues until Sunday 19 June. [Collingwood]

Station Gallery: presents Isadora Vaughan - Cunjevoi. 4pm-6pm. [South Yarra]

Nicholas Thompson Gallery: presents Genevieve Felix Reynolds - Idol Weight. An exhibition of new paintings by the Sydney based artist opens this afternoon from 4pm - 6pm. [CBD]

Neon Parlour presents Winter River is the Night 8pm - Late [Thornbury]

DenFair is open to the public, go look at design and things in a big building [South Warf]

Sunday 5 June 

NGV Australia: Unplugged Live. Music and Art meet at the NGV. Hosted by Jae Laffer of The Panics, listen to creative conversations followed by live music sets within the gallery spaces [Southbank]


Tuesday 7 June 

Ten Cubed: drinks to celebrate an exhibition of works by Noel McKenna from Ten Cubed's private collection. Noel's paintings are playful and familiar, showing scenes of the unremarkable to reveal simple beauties and sometimes hints of melancholy. 6-8pm. [Glen Iris]
