Melbourne City Library: 'Playful' - a group exhibition curated by Sophia Cai in celebration of National Youth Week 2016. Playful features 18 Australian and international artists with works in soft sculpture, ceramics, textile, toy design and animation. Artists include Beci Orpin, Tessy King, Ashley Ronning and Cat Rabbit. Open now until April 29. [CBD]

BLAKSTREAM applications close Sunday evening. Blakstream is an exciting new producers program available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples looking to up-skill and develop new pathways into the arts, culture and entertainment industry with a focus on the Indigenous sector.

For the first time, Bundoora Homestead Art Centre will host six leading contemporary artists, who will make new work in their galleries in an intensive residency from Wednesday 6 until Thursday 14 April 2016. The exhibition of this work, Under Construction will open Friday 15 April until Sunday 12 June 2016.
