No Vacancy Gallery x Just Another Agency: Presents Outside The Box, an exhibition featuring 100 Australian based artists. Each creative will have exactly 8 hours to create their work within the confinements of the gallery, with only the materials provided to them. Four artists will be creating in the space per day. Exhibition runs 3-28th October, Opening night 28th October 6-9pm. [CBD]

Off The Kerb Gallery: New solo exhibitions by Brian Cheung, Tayla Broekman, Lauren Guymer, and Sian Song continue to October 13. [Collingwood]

RVCA Corner Gallery: Spring-Time, an all women's group show curated by RVCA Women's special edition artist Melissa Grisancich. Exhibition continues to October 16 2016. [Collingwood]

Wednesday 5 October:

MPavillion launches today! MPavilion is a temporary event hub located in the Queen Victoria Gardens from October 2016 - February 2017. Featuring a full program of free talks, workshops, performances and installations. Head to www.mpavilion.org/program/ to view the program. [CBD]

Melbourne Festival: Launch for Melbourne Art Trams. For the fourth year running Victorian artists from a wide spectrum of disciplines have been invited to re-vamp Melbourne's trams. Some of the artists include Eddie Botha, Mimi Leung and Reko Rennie! [CBD]

Thursday 6 October:

Melbourne Festival kicks off today! With a huge line-up of events including Music, Visual Art, Theatre, Dance, and lots more. Head to www.festival.melbourne to see the full line-up. Festival runs from 6-23 October 2016.

Tinning Street: Opening night for Jam Every Other Day, by Georgia Harvey & Dawn Vachon, from 6pm [Brunswick]

Mailboxartspace: Opening for Contempottery, a contemporary exhibition featuring ceramicists and artists, 6-8pm. [CBD]

Junior Space: Presents Animation +, an animation exhibition showcasing the work of ten local and international contemporary animators, 6-8pm. [Fitzroy]

Blindside: Opening drinks for new exhibition Here in The Undergrowth, and PLAY an experimental video works. [CBD]

Friday 7 October:

The Paddock: The Art of Banksy, the largest collection of Banksy artwork to ever visit Australia opens today! Plus Welcome To Thornbury will be bringing the best of food trucks, and a huge outdoor area with bars and live DJ's on selected Friday nights and Saturdays. Saturday 8 October:

CCP: Opening for new exhibitions Walker Evans: The Magazine Work, and The documentary take. Official opening at 11am by Jonathan Holloway the Artistic Director of Melbourne Festival. [Fitzroy]

Sunday 9 October:

Strange Neighbour: Presents LIVE (the end of), featuring performances by Luke Holland, Aviva Endean & Ryan Williams, Military Position, TT SKTLS, Leo Kavanagh, Pretengineer (USA) and #Trampoline.  3 - 7PM, $10 entry. [Fitzroy]

Monday 10 October:

The MUST Space: The Monash Shakespeare Company presents Twelfth Night, an exciting retelling of one of Shakespeare's funniest plays. 7:30pm, Monash University Clayton, Book tickets here. [Clayton]
