3 RRR RADIOTHON finishes on 24 August, support community radio and subscribe. You can win a shit load of prizes in general, or If you subscribe as an artist you win arty stuff like an exhibition at BSG. Donate to a specific show like Smart Arts or the whole station and help keep the independent voice of community radio on air.

Melbourne Writers Festival started 21 August and runs until 31 August.  Check the website for the millions of things you literary types can indulge in.

Seventh Gallery show Dear Container  by artist Nabilah Nordin, curated by Sophie Moshakis opened Wednesday night and runs until 6 September.  Seventh Gallery is located on Gertrude street so pop in between buying expensive hamburgers, drinking cocktails or eating tacos.

No Vacancy Gallery launched Laser Fist Search and Destroy Thursday night, the show runs until 31 August. QV is a scary place, I won't lie but No Vacancy is a sanctuary amongst the madness and Search and Destroy is worth it.

Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia (CaSFFA) is running until 29 August, check the website for details on screenings.

The Czech & Slovak Film Festival of Australia presents CONSPIRATORS tonight at the Yarra Gallery, Federation Square from 6pm - 8pm.

The Food Court in the Docklands opens Petrified - Kane Alexander and Curtis Edwards from 6pm.

Backwoods Gallery opens OBLIVION by Yusk from 6pm - 9pm.

Daisylegs Studios doors are opening for food, drinks, art and music tonight from 8pm, 9 Carlton Street Prahran.

Schoolhouse Studios if opening wide and letting you inside to view the works of their talented occupants. The market will run  from 10am, pop in and look at stuff, buy stuff, chat to folk and play ping pong. POP! (thats my ping pong sound)

Carters Public House opens group show GYSOT  from 6.30 pm in Northcote, this show runs for this weekend only and the invite says its epic so it probably will be.

Gallerysmith and Gallerysmith Project Space are opening new shows from 4pm - 6pm.


VYSO Concert 3 - Impressions: Music and art of the impressionists Sunday arvo from 4pm
