MELBOURNE ARTS CLUB PRESENTS
DRAW, BUILD, PAINT, SHOOT, SCREEN
A series of 5 exhibitions set in 5 different venues in different areas of Melbourne.
Opening: 6pm – 10pm 18 July.
Exhibition: 19 July- 24 July 2014
Curator: Julia Howland
Artists: Amy Rose Chetwin & Khalia Kontoolas from Driftwood Dahlia , Alastair Mooney, Paul Dew, Petra Nicel, Tarli Bird and Hernan Lopera.
Concept: Melbourne Arts Club Creative Director J Forsyth ‘In keeping with Melbourne Art’s Club ethos of art without the wank, we have chosen to label the shows by medium with no specific theme, moving away from the sometimes overzealous synopsis or brief that comes with group shows.'
‘Each exhibition is an open call out group show, curated by Melbourne Arts Club to show case the best Melbourne has to offer for that medium,’ said J.
Why: Melbourne Arts Club Curator/Hustler Julia Howland ‘we want to create a zine. But not a shit zine. We want to create something that will last. And we
thought in the process of finding exceptional artists to contribute we could hold a few exhibitions to drive more attention and meet more artist babes.’
